In 2023 the researcher Mordechai Guri, known for his covert channels out of air-gapped networks, described PrinterLeak: a way to leak information from isolated systems by using a common printer as an escape route. Where there is no cable and no network, there is still something that lights a lamp or moves a mechanism: and every movement, watched patiently, tells a secret.
