The Patching Friars' Almanac
A calendar of saints where every day is dedicated to a famous vulnerability, on the day it was disclosed. The other candidates for the day are remembered below the patron saint.
Saints, blesseds and Fathers of the Church
- Saints: vulnerabilities with a CVE, i.e. canonized by MITRE.
- Blesseds: named vulnerabilities without a CVE, awaiting canonization.
- Fathers of the Church: historic vulnerabilities from before the CVE system (1999).
AI transparency
In the spirit of Article 50 of EU Regulation 2024/1689 (AI Act): holy cards, titles, hagiographies, prayers, proverbs and "how to celebrate" are generated with AI (Claude, Anthropic) and reviewed by hand. They are labelled under each holy card and marked in image metadata (IPTCtrainedAlgorithmicMedia).
Real data: vulnerability names, disclosure dates, CVE IDs, CVSS scores, products, CISA KEV status and source links.
Sources and licenses
- Vulnerability Garden by Shellsharks, CC BY-SA 4.0: list of named vulnerabilities and dates. Changes: one patron chosen per day, parody texts added.
- CISA KEV: actively exploited vulnerabilities.
- CVE List V5: CVSS, descriptions and products.
The project is free to read, copy and modify, but not for commercial purposes. Parody texts, holy cards and share images: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Code: PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0. Vulnerability data, derived from Vulnerability Garden, stays CC BY-SA 4.0as its license requires. Official vulnerability logos belong to their respective authors.
A personal parody project, meant without offence to any religion or to the people who found and fixed these vulnerabilities.
