Blessed CopyCat, Who Counted the Enclave's Steps

Life
In 2020 Daniel Moghimi, Jo Van Bulck, Nadia Heninger, Frank Piessens and Berk Sunar presented CopyCat. Controlling the operating system around an SGX enclave, they could deterministically count the instructions executed on each code page, and combined with page-level leakage they rebuilt the program flow instruction by instruction, enough to extract cryptographic keys in a single run.
