Saint Colourful Keyboard, Who Blushed at Every Key

Patron of on-screen keyboards, shoulder surfers, and passwords typed in public.

Life

On 29 January 2007 CVE-2006-6953 was catalogued: the virtual keyboard in GlobeTrotter Mobility Manager changed the colour of each key as it was pressed. Kind to the user, very generous to anyone watching the screen or grabbing a screenshot now and then: the password could be read letter by letter, like a traffic light blinking out its secrets.

Prayer

O Saint Colourful Keyboard, who lights up at every confidence, teach us to type our secrets in the dark. Amen.

How to celebrate

Celebrated by turning off key highlighting on password fields and, by tradition, shielding the screen with one hand.
