"Tredecim Clamores". In March 2018 thirteen "critical" flaws in AMD processors were announced with a polished website and only 24 hours' notice to the vendor. AMD confirmed and fixed them, but every one required admin privileges first, and by then the game is largely lost already. The very short notice and the fanfare made more noise than the flaws, and even Linus Torvalds voiced public doubts. The encyclical teaches that severity is measured by the prerequisite, not the adjective.
