Il demone Industroyer, che spense Kyiv

Leggenda

Costruito apposta per attaccare le sottostazioni elettriche, parlava direttamente i protocolli industriali come IEC 101, IEC 104, IEC 61850 e OPC DA. Nel dicembre 2016 causò un blackout in parte di Kyiv. Una variante, Industroyer2, fu usata nel 2022 e fermata prima che facesse danni.

Esorcismo

Si esorcizza separando le reti di controllo, sorvegliando i comandi anomali nei protocolli industriali e tenendo pronte procedure manuali. Nelle sottostazioni, poter operare a mano è la miglior difesa.

It caused a power outage in part of Kyiv in December 2016. A variant, Industroyer2, was used in a foiled attack on a Ukrainian energy company in April 2022; both are attributed to Sandworm.
